Control octave on controller keyboard from Ableton

Does anybody know if it's possible to control the octave on an external keyboard (M Audio KeyStudio 25) from Ableton?

I use Live to live-loop voice, guitar, keys, and have frequently started recording a keys loop only to realise I'm in the wrong octave - bit of a pain in the ass in the middle of a gig.  I'd love to automate it from Abelton so I'd never have to worry about it.

I've dummy clips set up to control synth selection, so was wondering if I could map a midi note to "octave up" and another to "octave down" OR map a note to individual octaves (-2, -1, 0, 1, 2 etc. etc...).

Thanks in advance for any help/suggestions/tips,

Have you thought of using Midi Effects on those Tracks?  What about Pitch? Scale?

Since they are Ableton Live Effects, you can map them as you like with any midi knob.
