Clips which start on previous beat's upbeat?

Hey guys!

Is there any way of having a clip which begins during previous beat, you know like in melodies where you have couple leading notes before the actual first downbeat of the clip?

I have found nothing but tedious workaround for this. I'm kind of baffled that a loop-based sequencer software lacks essential features such as this.

I assume you're talking about session mode.

You could change the clip launch quantization but it could be difficult to trigger clips on time.

You could create a clip with silence preceding upbeat, and launch it one bar early.

    You could use follow actions.

It would be nice if Ableton implemented a simpler way of doing this. For example holding shift and launching a clip could have it's own quantisation rule.
