Clip cue points or adjusting Loops accurately on-the-fly

I'm working in a live perfromance or dj environment with several audio clips loaded in Session View and want to be able to accurately control and adjust the loop controls in a clip.

Currently, I can't accurately adjust the loop's position and length. For instance, if I assign a controller dial to the Loop length, it is nearly impossible to control it precise position as it jumps in big steps.

I would also like to use push buttons to increase/decrease the loop length. For instance, from 1 bar to ¼ bar to ⅛ etc.

Using Looper is not a solution as the clip continues to play - whereas the whole point is for the clip to loop and continue to play only when the loop is switched off.

I know that it is not possible to have cue points in a clip but if anyone has a workaround to creating these using midi or keyboard or even Max, then I'm all ears!

Thanks all.

Probably not a solution for you but Push allows for this especially Push and the PXT script for Push. Gives you good LCD feedback of the position set with the loop markers and PXT allows you to even change the loop length and position on a sample on-the-fly so you can chop beats and loops in time with the track. God it's fun and makes me wish I did live performing.

Thanks for that. I want Push - but current cash flow not sufficient. So alternatives would be fantastic! Are there no 3rd party scripts or Max tools that will do this? Does anyone fancy writing a Max patch for this and collaborate with me?!?
