Can not preview a MIDI File

I can't preview midi files / loops using live file browsers. I can preview audio samples, files and loops with no problem.

Using the hot-swap I can preview audio samples with instruments and preview presets.

But I can't preview midi files. I hear only a noised "click" for each note.

I have read the live's 8.2.2 manual may times looking about previewing midi files using a VST instrument, like NI Battery3, Reaktor, but I can't do this.

I appreciate your help!

Midi files dont make sounds they are just messages, you need to specify what sounds the files play and as live doesnt have a GM (general midi) bank installed there is not set basis for midi playback, download a soundfont vst if you want to here what it sounds like in GM.

I assume the preview button at the bottom of the AL browser does not work for you?  To be frank, midi sounds terrible (at least on my computer) using AL's preview tab.  I would recommend using an external GM midi player to preview your midis.  There are many free GM players out there. My favorites are Notation (free) and the Midi Utility GNMIDI (pay for).
