can i use sample kits and packs from the internet in my live 8 library without they are live packs from ableton?

i'm using ableton live 8 and wanted to expand my library. now my question:

when i try to add a new sample kits or packs (not live packs from ableton) to my library, are the folders in my library but i can't open them and using the sounds.

Depends on what format they are in, you say "sample kits", which could either be a collection of .wav files, or Kontakt, EXS24, etc sampler patches. Knowing which of these is the actual case will get you better information about how to handle them.

I am actually dealing with the same issues, and the library that is installed are all .wav files.

I can't figure out how to use those .wav files in a format within a measure. I can only import them, and it only plays the .wav file as a whole note, and I can't copy and paste in the same measure. Please help.
