If you have multiple outputs on your soundcard (I think the MOTU Ultralite does) you can specify two of these outputs (for stereo) to be your "cue outs" in Live - I believe it's on the Master channel in Session View, near the mixer.

If this is enabled, then your "solo" buttons become "cue" buttons - the track is played through your cue output. It's been a while (at least Live 7) since I last used this so I forget if there's an intermediate step, but that's the basic idea.

By default, the Motu mk3's headphones are using channels 13/14 or 15/16.  Enable those outputs in Live's Audio Preferences.  Then in Live's I/O secton, enable 13/14 or 15/16 for your headphones out.

As Warrior Bob said, "If this is enabled, then your 'solo' buttons become 'cue' buttons..."
