big problem: a vst-rack-macro-control does not follow the change of a parameter in the gui of the vst

i made for my favoutite VSTs (f.e. firebird, massive) instrument racks with 8 macro controls. perfect for push :)

the problem is:

if i change a mapped parameter (f.e. cutoff) in the gui of the VST, the macro-controller does not follow it.

more fatally: if i change the preset of the VST, the macro-controls doesnt match to the VST.

even more fatally: if i save/close a song with an untouched and good sounding VST-preset and open it again, the macro-controls overvrite the parameters of the VST. result: the sound ist completely different than before closing/opening the song.
the same happens, if i change a macro-mapped parameter in the VST-gui: after song-closing/opening the change is lost, cause the macro-control overwrites my change in the VST-gui.

my workaround is:
1. before closing the song i move all macro-controls to match them to their mapped VST-parameters. even if i dont want to change the value.
2. i only use the VST-gui for parameters which i didn`t mapped to macro-controls

thats not satisfying and makes the amazing instrument-racks somehow useless for me.

do you have an idea?

    Yep, that certainly does happen.

Not sure why but the Macros will not follow a pattern change so my recommendation for VSTs is to simply not use them UNLESS you need true macro mapping (multiple parameters to a single control). It's possible to automate just the configured controls using most controllers over the macros.

I must agree... this is such a shame.
