Best way to Upgrade from 9.1 (32 bit) to 9.7.2 (64 bit)

In 2013, i installed 32-bit Live Suite 9.1 onto my Mavericks MacBookPro.  It's time to upgrade.  I wiped my computer then restored from my TimeMachine backup so I have all of my software and documents on a clean Sierra OS.

I would like to install the latest 9.7.2 64-bit but don't know the best way to do that.

Do I uninstall 9.1 first?  Or do I simply run the 9.7.2 installer?

Any tips or advice?

I simply ran the 64-bit installer and chose to overwrite the older version.  It seems to have worked just fine.
