UPDATE

dga711 found an effective solution for this problem:

Thanks!

-----

I've just started using Live 9 with my axiom pro 49 keyboard controller, and there is no way of making Hypercontrol to work. I tested with my previous Live 8 installation and it works fine there.

I've tried this solution wich Ableton support provided to me but it still doesn't work:

I've reinstalled the Axiom Pro drivers, but none of the autommapped controls work. M-audio does not provide the scripts for ableton live because supposedly Axiom Pro is supported by ableton live. And, as I've said, Hypercontrol works ok on my libe 8 installation, but fails completely on live 9.

Anyone with the same problem? any solitions you've might have come to?

Thanks!

(using windows 7, by the way)

I have the exact same problem. The play/stop/record button doesnt even work! It really sucks! i have sendt support message about it twice now. First time they answered ' We are looking into that issue'. But i think this should be an easy task for a team of engineers. I mean.. ITs suppose to be one of the top DAW's out there now. And it cant even setup a hypercontrol, or even map midi manual! All daw's made after 2011 should do this with no problem. Espessaly when Live 8 did it easy.

I wonder if this is only regarding Axiom Pro, or is it problems with all midi keyboards? Anyone ?

I also had this problem since the beginning of Live9. No problem in any other DAW.

The Hypercontrol OUT is just missing from the MIDI port selection.

Part of the problem seems to be, that when you switch USB ports, it registers all the "(virtual) midi ports" again for that USB port and so on.

You will notice that you may have MIDI selection like "2 - Axiom Pro..." and when you plug it into another USB port its like "3 - Axiom Pro...". So stuff is cluttered and Live9 can't handle it somehow.

Back then (some months ago) I was able to fix it, by manually deleting EVERYTHING that has to do with the M-Audio stuff from windows registry. Which was hard task, since some keys are protected and you need some software I don't remember. (took many hours)

And it worked. But now I have the same problem again and can't be bothered to go through all that hassle again.

    Ableton...please...your turn!

    UPDATE

    --------------

How I fixed it this time...

    1. Go to KORG support page (yes KORG!)
    2. Look in Downloads for the "Radias" (probably doesnt matter) and download the DrvTools zip
    3. Unzip and install. During install choose custom and NOT install the KORG USB Driver. We only need the usbmidi setup tool
    4. Open Start->Programs->Korg->"Uninstall Korg Midi..."
    5. Click "Option" and deselect the checkbox
    6. You now have a list with all "midi-ports". Select everything you don't need anymore or is corrupted or looks like the Axiom stuff (when drivers still installed).
    7. Click Next and it deletes all those corrupt midi devices everything.
    8. You should now uninstall the axiom drivers if not already done.
    9. Reboot
    10. Install Axiom drivers
    11. Plug in your Axiom and let it install/get recognized
    12. Opene Ableton. There you go!

This worked for me. If it needs to be exact that order I don't know. Also maybe take care beforehand to empty all midi settings in ableton.

    Good Luck!

Like you all, My M-Audio axiompro 61 worked perfectly with live 8 but once I upgraded to live 9 hypercontrol no longer worked. I contacted ableton support and they had no official fix for it. I tried everyone's suggestions and finally DGA711's fix worked. I suggest doing it in the exact order that he did. I found that my computer had 6 different instances of the AxiomPro driver and other corrupt midi drivers which were causing the difficulty. The KORG midi uninstaller was a godsend. Thank you DGA711 for your creative solution, Ableton owes you a reward.  Here is the order:

    1. Go to KORG support page (yes KORG!)
    2. Look in Downloads for the "Radias" (probably doesnt matter) and download the DrvTools zip
    3. Unzip and install. During install choose custom and NOT install the KORG USB Driver. We only need the usbmidi setup tool
    4. Open Start->Programs->Korg->"Uninstall Korg Midi..."
    5. Click "Option" and deselect the checkbox
    6. You now have a list with all "midi-ports". Select everything you don't need anymore or is corrupted or looks like the Axiom stuff (when drivers still installed).
    7. Click Next and it deletes all those corrupt midi devices everything.
    8. You should now uninstall the axiom drivers if not already done.
    9. Reboot
    10. Install Axiom drivers
    11. Plug in your Axiom and let it install/get recognized
    12. Opene Ableton. There you go!

Live 9 and my Axiom pro 49 Hypercontrol works fine together.. You only have to put on/off the button on Tracks in Midi ports (in MIDI Sync Preferences) and then turn off/on your Axiom again.. Now it works.. :-) Greetz Cut N Glue

Uninstall the M-Audio driver, then in Live Preferences > MIDI Sync > Control Surface select the Axiom Pro Input/Output as Port 2.

Quick fix for using your Play/stop/record is just to map them by pressing the midi button top right then click on the key you want to map followed by the button on your Axiom Pro.

I'm having the same problem but easy solution until Ableton figures out a patch.
