Audio samples of Live Packs - only useable with Live? (Mac)

Hi there,

I bought the Crystal Sounds Live pack and I wanted to open the audio samples with another software. That proved to be impossible, all apps that I tried were unable to do so, from Audacity to Logic to QuickTime to AudioFinder. Yet the samples are simple .aif format...

Is there some kind of access key that allows one to use the samples only with Live? Does anybody know? I copied the samples to another folder to be sure that I have access privileges.

The audio files at the core of the Partner Instruments are copy protected according with the user's license and therefore can only be opened from within Live.

I just had the same problem. I wish to access my Live's sample library from SuperCollider but can't. I do not have a problem when it comes to copy protection but it seems illogical that I don't have access to the sample packs that I purchased from other softwares running on my own computer! Is there any way to bypass this restriction?

I have the same problem in AudioFinder ( Very annoying because it is a great tool to manage your samples but if you can't even search your own Ableton Pack library ...
Ableton's built in browser is not quite as good.

I understand Ableton wants to protect its libraries. But it would be great if Ableton would share the protection with Iced Audio so we could use both applications to full satisfaction.
