Assigning MIDI knobs with indents at "0"

Hello, I recently got a Traktor Z1 because I needed a simple DJ mixer.

However, I'm using it in MIDI mode with Ableton Live 9 and I've looked all over the Internet for a solution to mapping the EQ knobs to something like EQ3.

Basically, what I want to do is have (we'll use the low knob as an example) the right side of knob control the gain from 0 to 6 while the left side of the knob controls -inf to 0.
The only solution I found was a Max for Live device called mapulator but it doesn't work with my version of live for some reason.

Is there really not a way to map certain parts of a knob to certain ranges?

Yes, by using a rack. Load a rack with the fx you need, map the buttons to the macro knobs and use the chain-options to add multiple functions and ranges to a single knob.
