Arm Clip setting ?

Was not able to record my keystrokes on the mpk mini, then I tested this :

1. On the APC40 I press the arm button

2. I press the little square to insert a clip

3. as the clip is rendering it's length I can then and only then input my notes

4. Why ?

In Ableton 8 I can simply start a clip, make the length I want and then input my notes while it loops with the desired clip length .

Am I missing a new toggle to setting that will allow me to to do loop based music on the fly like in Ableton 8 ? Or am I stuck using Ableton 8 ?

Figured it out, beside the "new" button there is an empty circle, clicking that the circle turns red and I'm able to input my notes.

Now, is that new circle bound to the APC40 ? and if so what button is it ?

Would suggest making a "what's new" thing on the side of the bar cause I read through all of the sections and it said nothing about the empty circle.

You mean the session record button.

Even stranger is I can't record at all in arrangement view in my Live 8 created songs for some reason in Live 9. If I create new song I have no problems. Their tech support is so backed up I haven't heard from them all week.
