Apc20 + Apc40 setup help!!

How can I set up my apc40 and my apc20 on one computer without them affecting eachother? All knobs, buttons, and faders on both devices control the exact same perameters. I do not want this to happen. I want them to act independently. Please don't tell me that I have to run two copies of live at once.. I will not do that. Please help out if you can. Thanks.

Check your MIDI preferences and make sure you have one control surface setup for your APC20 and one for your APC40 also make sure the input/outputs match it's hardware. Also check the manual section for the MIDI tab of the preferences window.

You will also want to keep in mind that there are certain functions which will remain the same on both however things like the grid is independent since you navigate separately. This is represented by the two different color boxes in the session view. The faders will follow the selection box also so nothing to do there. The device control knobs can be locked to whatever device you want by right clicking the device name. you can lock one and leave one free to use with whatever you track you have selected.
