Ableton is still Un-Ableton when it comes to render MP3. Why?

It's 2011 an Ableton is not ableto render MP3. Why?

MP3 is with a view on audio quality for sure not the best choice. On the other hand: If you want to export a track for use in the internet for exchange ideas via IM or Mail or at least if you want to use your tracks on a Laptop with small HDs, WAV or AIFF is not really necessary and often too huge. Using external tools means impact on workflow and slows down workaround - in fact you have to wait for the rendering first and then for the conversion to MP3 - also you have to enter Meta-Data (errr... Where to enter some Meta-Data in Ableton???)

It should be possible to make Ableton Ableto to render MP3 (maybe also OGG oder FLAC). If it is a money thing for the company: Charge customers. But don't ignore one of most used file formats ever.

I know - i agree. Being a demanding customer i want to be able to export as mp3 and then go - I dont want to open another program to do it! Even 1 minute is just a drag....

I expect the reason why Ableton don't support this is because they don't want to have licence the MP3 codec - I seem to recall the terms of the licence are pretty imposing.

Ambelton should have this facility included in the software. I think its stupid that you have to go elswhere to complete a track for the internet?
