64-bit internal processing

I am simply wondering why Live's "internal processing" happens in 32-bit, and not 64-bit, or why there isn't a processing benefit on 64-bit systems?

Rookie question, I presume...

There is a processor benefit. In 64 bit mode your computer can acces additional RAM. Problem is that you then also have to use 64 bit plugins since the 32 bit stuff does not work. That can however be fixed by using a 'translator' like jbridge. Apparently that does not make everything more stable, so if your computer can handle your projects in 32 bit, that is probably a better idea :-)
