Pascal Oorts

Pascal runs Tapelab Studio (music production studio) and is the owner of Tapelab Academy (Antwerp) and Music Producer Academy (London). He has produced music for bands and individual artists, as well as for games, film and advertising, and has performed across Europe with various projects such as Mintzkov, Part Time Punks and Chackie Jam.

Pascal’s teaching is practical and outcome-driven. Whether you’re starting out or already releasing music, the goal is the same: a faster workflow, stronger creative decisions, and finished tracks. Sessions focus on turning “I know the tools” into “I can reliably make and release music that sounds like me.”

With 10+ years of teaching experience and 1,000+ students coached, Pascal is known for clear structure, direct feedback, and practical workflows that stick.

Sessions are built around your own projects. Pascal helps you unblock and finish tracks by working directly in your Ableton set(s), and you’ll get focused assignments to apply the process and keep momentum between lessons.

Learn the essentials without overwhelm, and build a repeatable process to turn ideas into a complete track draft.

Music Production (in Ableton Live) – finish stronger songs, not just better loops

Build full arrangements, improve groove and energy, make confident sound choices, and learn the decisions that separate “nice idea” from a release-ready track.

Mixing (in Ableton Live) – clarity, punch and translation

Get a clean low end, control dynamics, create depth and space, and build a mixing workflow that translates across speakers, headphones and clubs.

Mastering & Finalizing (in Ableton Live) – loud, clean, and ready to release

Set levels properly, use EQ/dynamics/limiting with intent, prepare exports for streaming and DJ use, and avoid the common “loud but flat/harsh” mastering trap.

Advanced: Instruments & Sound Design – sounds that serve the song

Design and build playable, mix-friendly sounds, and learn how to choose or create tones that support arrangement and emotion.

Ableton Push – speed, flow and performance control

Compose faster, sketch full sections quickly, and use Push as a serious instrument for rhythm, harmony and arrangement (not just a clip launcher).

Live Performance with Ableton Live – a set that holds up under pressure

Build a reliable performance set, nail transitions, manage CPU/latency, and develop a stage workflow you can trust.

Every workshop combines short explanations with guided practical exercises, aimed at creating real musical material during the session. Pascal also offers 1:1 tuition and custom workshops for all levels, in-person or online via Zoom/screen sharing.
