Link Audio makes it easier than ever to collaborate on your music in real time, by letting you stream audio between compatible devices over a local network without additional hardware or manual latency compensation. Multi-channel audio can be sent from Move and Note to Live or Push Standalone – and in Live and on Push, audio from other players appears directly as an input.
Live 12.4 brings updates to three devices:
Erosion now includes real-time spectrum visualization and the option to blend continuously between both sine and noise modulation and mono and stereo noise.
Chorus-Ensemble gives you greater control over delay time and structure, especially useful for achieving smooth, musical chorus sounds on guitar and bass.
Finally, Delay comes with new LFO time modes and waveforms, offering a wider range of modulation possibilities.
Stem Separation, available in Live 12 Suite, is more flexible and intuitive in 12.4. You can now process specific time selections in Arrangement View, remove specific stems and combine the rest into a single track, and view the progress of the entire operation rather than per-stem.
Learn View, which replaces the old Help View, guides you through the basic workflows and core concepts of Live, combining short videos with written explanations. You can track your progress by checking off lessons as you complete them.
Live 12.4 lets you create and modify MIDI controller mappings from Push Standalone, customize which control scripts your connected MIDI device uses, and deactivate control scripts entirely to make space for your own custom mappings. Plus, it’s now easier to control Max for Live devices, with an option to add more Max for Live parameters to the Device View.
Live 12.4 is accompanied by Move 2.0 and Note 2.0. On both Move and Note, you can now add audio clips from the library, record directly via microphone or (on Move) line-in or USB-C, and warp the resulting sound with an algorithm that maintains the pitch of the original sound while altering the tempo – or vice versa.
Auto Shift and Erosion, two effects from Live, are now available on Move and Note, giving you more tools to process vocals and color sounds.
Finally, you can explore new demo Sets created specially for Move and Note by Heavy Mellow, Alice Ivy and Jose Castillo.
Live 12.4 is a free update for all Live 12 users and will be installed the next time you open Live. If auto-update is turned off, go to your user account to download.
