Using Ableton Live as an Auto-Accompaniment tool for live presentations

Hello!

I have a PC running Ableton Live latest version, a Roland Fantom G and the APC 40.

I would like to comimbine these two and accomplish something similar to an auto-accompaniment keyboard, or something similar to the Karma technology.

I was thinking in something like this:

1) Program the patterns/frases using Ableton and organize them in Scenes.

2) Use the APC 40 to launch the clips and scenes

3) The Ableton scenes would have no sound, just the rythm and the patterns

4) Use the Fantom G to produce the sound and effects

5) Use the Fantom G to play the chords, so the Ableton clips would act as an auto-accompaniment solution.

Is it possible to do?

If you are asking whether you can use Ableton to play the Phantom G sounds via MIDI then, yes, of course you can.

No, that is not the point.

I want something similar to the Karma Technology that is available to Korg and Yamaha brands...

Karma is something like a super-turbo arpeggiator, with scenes, etc...

Ableton allow us to crete scenes by triggering several clips simultaneously, but the clips must be prerecorded and will always play the notes/chords recorded previously. I mean, the clips are static.

I searching for something that I could use to make the clips more dynamic and play chords on my fantom and Ableton should act as an auto-accompaniment machine, just like if I was playing an arranger keyboard, such as Tyros 4.

I know about the Ableton Arpeggiator, but I could not find a way to set different arpeggiators to different scenes or groups of clips. Actually, I'm unable to set and arpeggio style to my clips, since the arpeggiator is jus a MIDI effect applyed to the midi channel, not to the clip itself...

    Anyway, thanks for the response.

    ha!

    dear andepires.

this is exactly, what i wish since years. ableton clips as an accompaniment style. there is no one, that built sdomething like this.

    we have to organize. (;

i think, we need a tool in front of ableton.

surely someone, who is an expert with max could build this.

have a look here - i´m gonna try it:

maybe this works also in connection with ableton:

why would this not work? It should just be a matter of routing the midi and audio correctly. do you need some help with that?
