Which version and edition of Live are you using? There are

    • Live Lite
    • Live Intro
    • Live
    • Suite

Only Live and Suite support slice to midi. See for example: http://www.ableton.com/upgrade-to-full

Did you turn warping off on the clip you just warped (which you shouldn't do btw because it undos the warping you just did)? You need to have warping on on a clip to be able to slice it to a new midi track, the warp button should be yellow (or another color depending on your color pallete, anyway it should be on ;)).

I just bought the MPK25 too, but i didnt install it. You should have just left and continued to use you 8.2.5. I would see about re-installing it, and maybe that would help you out.
