Remixing a Song- more questions?

Hi, thanks for your responses. However, still need help?

I would like to create a backing track from a song.

I need to be able to select sections of the track, cut or copy these sections & have the ability to loop them continuiously, to then play live using the clip launch section/ apc 40 controller all in time.

- i am experimenting with loading a track into the arrange section, copying sections into new tracks/ or highlighting sections and copying them across to clips. Sort of working but need more help. Timing of launching audio clips is an issue.

How do I do the above functions? What method can I use. Can ableton & the apc 40 do this.

Kind Regards

Personally I'd use the clip page. Drag the track onto one clip. Make sure it's warped correctly i.e. in time with the tempo set so it's controllable and then copy that clip below on the same track say 6 or 7 times. No you can go into each clip and use the loop section markers to choose the part you want to play for that clip and it'll loop until you choose another clip on the same track.

oh also, I used to have the apc40 which is great btw. It doesn't really have much to do with setting up what you want to do. If you follow the above process then your set of clips will be ready to be triggered by the apc40 e.g. by pressing the button related to a particular section's clip on the controller. With the apc40, depending on how 'live' and 'expressive' you want to be there's a whole array of thing you can then do to the clips by assigning particular effects to the apc.
