How do I stop an external sequencer from starting directly when hitting play?

So far I have managed to get my Launchpad S to trigger patterns via program changes on my Electribe Emx-1. I'm using an external instrument track routed to a midi track in Ableton.
But how do I stop the Electribe from starting its patterns when I hit play in Ableton? I only want the patterns to start when I trigger them through my launchpad... And is it possible to make the midi tracks (with program changes that starts the pattern on the electribe) start after, let's say 1 bar, after I have pressed a pad on my Launchpad?

Help would be appreciated :)
