Capture effects from returns.

Hi I recorded a bunch of audio while sending through a bunch of effects on a return.  You could hear them when I was recording, but I can't seem to get them to play-back in session nor arrange.  The tracks seem to play back dry.

I was trying to capture the performance for later tweaking in arrangement.

When you record audio from an effect send you either need to record the Master or set up a new track and route the send to that track. In both cases you need to follow these steps:

    1 - Insert a new Audio Track

2 - If recording the Master you need to set the Track Input of the new audio track to 'Master". If recording from the Return Track you need to set the Audio Output of the return track to the new audio track.

3 - If using the Master method you need to Mute everything you don't want to record. If using the Return Track method you need to make sure that only the signals you want to record are being sent to that return track.

4 - Hit Record on your new audio track and then play the parts you want to record.

    Voila : )

Hey Mark.  Thanks.  I think I worded my question wrong.  I guess I mean capturing the effects from the return track.  I put vocals through a return track with a bunch of effects on it.  It sounded awesome and the effects manipulation has been recorded in session. However, the vocal track plays back dry.

Ya.  In arrange... even though the track shows as sending to Return A, which has powered effects... it's playing back dry.
