Xavier Leloux is a musician, composer, and educator based in Paris. For several years, he has focused his work on live electronic music under the name Loudmer, developing a demanding practice around Push and modular synthesizers. Previously, he played in numerous groups â on electric mandolin, bass, or Push â often accompanied on stage by his laptop as a sparring partner. A passionate Ableton Live user for over twenty years, he is constantly seeking practical and creative ways to use it for both stage and studio.

Introduced to electroacoustic music at university and jazz at the conservatory, he works on building bridges in Live between performed or improvised music and sequenced music. He enjoys creating effect racks, sampled instruments, and custom Live sets for all contexts, from production to performance.
Xavier also initiated and hosted Electronic Jams, fostering encounters between artists and collective creation around Live and hardware.
Under the name Loudmer, he develops an electronic project centered on improvisation and spontaneity. His performances, built entirely around modular synthesizers and Push used without a computer, allow him to explore a poetic and organic form of techno â both precise and free.
Xavier regularly composes for theater and visual arts. His music for Like me â a site-specific theater piece performed with headphones, sometimes even in swimming pools â has been played more than 200 times. He also created a live cinema score for the Forum des Images in Paris, and another for CinĂŠma 93 with Anne Frèches.
On stage, Xavier loves to make crowds dance with his oriental/gypsy duo Les Frères Tatane. Previously, his project Margaret Catcher was for a long time both a musical and technical laboratory for him and his drummer accomplice.
As a teacher, his approach is relaxed and focused on the learnerâs goals. He enjoys supporting artists and technicians with diverse backgrounds, exploring ways each can make the software their own.
Xavier Leloux offers individual lessons and mentorship for using Live on stage. He also teaches Live and Push at Le 40ème Rugissant, an Ableton Certified Training Center in Paris.
