KMG Academy was established in 2015 and provides a unique form of instruction in the fields of recording arts, music production and business in the music industry. Our hands-on training approach allows students to truly grasp concepts in a fully functioning recording studio, which includes eight recording studios, two production suites, lecture hall, and Ableton lab. Our sole mission is to Keep Music Going and change lives in our creative community.

KMGLife Inc. began as a recording studio in 2011. Greg Kimble, Certified
Master Recording Technician and CEO of KMGLife Inc., saw a need for a more
individualized, hands-on approach to teaching audio and decided to utilize his
expertise by establishing KMG Academy in 2015. Once an audio student himself, Greg
has a compassionate perspective and understanding of the audio training needed for
students to develop a strong foundation of knowledge to enter a career in the music
industry.
For aspiring audio engineers, we offer a 12-month program that teaches the intricacies
of recording arts and business, which includes everything from audio recording
techniques to mixing/mastering as well as social media marketing and music business
training. For aspiring music producers, we offer a 6-month program that teaches the
technical side of music production as well as DJing and performance in Ableton Live.
Our classroom style instruction includes a hybrid of theory and hands-on training.
Students are provided 2 classes per week and the option of booking an additional
private training class with the instructor of their choice to create a more individualized
approach to learning in their preferred field of audio.
Our students have access to the latest in music technology including DAWs such as
Pro Tools and Ableton Live. Our facility is also equipped with many different types of
vintage analog gear and an Ableton Push in every studio. For more information, please
