I'm a native english speaker. You're right though, the english here seems to be well written. Maybe forums are the new way to learn a foreign language.
It's hard to focus on just one thing for too long...

Practice makes, if not perfect - at least... good?

it's something I'm always quite envious of - I think we native English speakers are at a considerable intellectual disadvantage to everyone else

the universal language in the world today is English so it gets used by everyone in any situation because they know there is more chance of being undrstood by more people because it is everybody's second language

while for us, even when we go abroad and try and speak in our high school renditions of whatever language, we usually get to a point where we cant say what we are trying to and the whole conversation lapses into English

then there's things like German software companies with multi-national staff who end up talking in English because it's the one language they all manage to speak

I'd much rather be bi-lingual, but for English speakers that generally is alot harder to achieve because everyone else wants to practice their English

I spoke fluent English from the time I was 6-ish.
My main sources of education on that were BBC ,Nintendo and a shitload of 80's hits.

That being said.. Since I'm Belgian I should know French and Deutsch on top of Dutch. But bugger that, let Germans and French people learn English

I hated foreign languages at school and learnt bugger all..
I came over to Germany from England with the Army. After serving my time stayed here and I now speak German nearly as good as my English, only because I live here..You wouldn’t catch me speaking another language if is was still in the UK..! 8O

it is funny to say but my written english is better than my spoken english... it would be for me a great thing to have forums where you can also speak

I'm from Malmö, Skåne - so yes! I definitely talk Skånska.

How come you know so much about swedish linguistics?
