I use a WACOM tablet as my mouse, for everything. I use it for doing live sets too. I find it's really useful (especially more useful than crappy laptop touchpads).
The only downside is that it can be slippery to get an exact number when you tweak a controller. Luckily Live allows you to type in a number when the controller's highlighted, to do that.
