Hey guys,
I've been having trouble with this for awhile. I mix a radio show on ableton live 8, and when I export the audio, it has been automatically limited (so no peaks are above 0dB), even though no plugins are on the master channel strip.
Does anyone know why this is happening, and how to disable this function?
Thank you very much!

Re: Automatic Limiter on stereo master
My guess is you have "normalize" enabled in the render settings.
Re: Automatic Limiter on stereo master
Nope, normalize is always off.

0dB in the master means 0dBfs (full scale) - This means that everything above 0dBfs will clip (cut) so nothing can exceed 0dBfs.
This is not a problem of Live, this is in general normal behavior of digital audio.

That's pretty much what clipping is when the signal is too hot. Why do you need the peaks to be in the red above 0db? You cannot render that without clipping.rufiooo2 wrote:it has been automatically limited (so no peaks are above 0dB), even though no plugins are on the master channel strip
