is it possible to set up a clip in the session view to trigger a locator in the arrangement view?
something like assign a midi note to the locator, use that midi note in a midi clip and route the clip's midi output to lives midi in should do the trick but i was not able to route the midi data correctly.
i use ipad/livecontrol for my live setup and want to be able to jump to locators using the Launcher window of he livecontrol template. So i would be able to use named clips instead as kind of aliases for the named locaters which are not directly supported by livecontrol.

Routing out and back into Live using virtual MIDI ports is exactly how I'd try to solve that. You can't do it with just Live, you'll need some other tool (Bome's, Midi Yoke, OSX IAC, Maybe M4L, something like one of those).
