Pluggo plugins no longer recognized in M4L version of Live?

Post by Mattijs » Tue Sep 01, 2009 4:33 pm

Hi all,

Could it be true that with the coming of M4L, Pluggo plugins are no longer recognized?

I wanted to compare some functionality in Pluggo and M4L but Pluggo vsts are not visible when I look at the system VST folder with Live, whereas Logic still recognizes them (that is, the AU versions).

Best,

Have you enabled AU's in preferences?

You can't use Pluggo and MFL in the same set. This will never change.

I totally understand, believe and accept this fact - And I even support the concept (after hearing you and David explain how difficult supporting Pluggo and M4L would be), so I'm not debating that M4L and Pluggo SHOULD be running together.

I do seem to be able to use Pluggo in the most recent beta, and the plugins seem to work well (I haven't done exhaustive testing, because I thought this wouldn't work). I'm even able to launch M4L while I have pluggo plugins running, but then, suddenly, the Pluggo Plugins start malfunctioning. None of this is a surprise - but I simply bring it up because some may still be a little confused that some aspects of Pluggo seem to work.

As I understand it - Pluggo is just plain out of the picture when M4L arrives. We simply start rebuilding Pluggo Plugins within M4L. Yeah?

In so far as Pluggo is "supported" these days. it works fine in Live 8, and may work fine in Live 8.1 as well, right up to the point where you try and load an MFL device. But there won't be any work done on Pluggo at all, so it's kind of as is where is. Thanks for understanding.

Thanks for your reply.

I'm not sure, but shouldn't the vsts be visible as well?

Mattijs, I thought that Pluggo-plugins didn't even work in the vst~ object staring in Max 5?
