And what about tempo automation?
And what about tempo automation?
Now that we have automation in sessin view, how can we simply automate the tempo in session view?
Simply meaning not using the IAC driver, or using the tempo from arrangement view.
Is there a max for live patch that does this?
Thanks

Re: And what about tempo automation?
u can name a scene in session 135 bpm and it switches to this bpm when u launch the whole scene
Re: And what about tempo automation?
works for time signatures as well.
Re: And what about tempo automation?
I know, what I mean is that in a particular scene, let's say you want to accelerate the tempo from 112 to 150 in one scene. not just jump from 112 to 150, but go gradually. Accelerando!

Re: And what about tempo automation?
ah okay, but u are even unable to do this in arangement view. so why should it be possible in session?
of course it would be a nice gimmick

Re: And what about tempo automation?
I can do this in arrangement view ........ and I once upon a time thought this might work thou I never really explored it.
What if, you Key Map points in Arrangement.
while working in Session mode, Arrangement still flows along. if you set up a loop in arrangement it'll do just that while your rocking your set in session view. if you set a key map point outside the loop and automate the tempo you can have the tempo automate perfectly. The Key map points will launch at the top of the bar when your global quantize is set to one bar.
this is a technique I think i'd only do once in a set unless you turn the loop off and move the loop braces to the other side of your automation and turn it back on in arrangement
and it's gotta be set-up before hand so It's not something to do on the fly.
the only other hold up is if you touch the tempo before this you might have to hit the back to arrangement button which would stop all your clips in session so you have to but be careful.
have fun.......

Re: And what about tempo automation?
Hi Timbeaux,
In the arrangement view, the tempo automation is controlled
by the master track. Just make it a little higher, and you
should see the automation choosers. Choose Mixer / Song Tempo.
Hope this helps,
Carl

Re: And what about tempo automation?
In Arrangement
on the master track you can automate global tempo.
AFAIK you can't have two specific tempos if everything is warped
of course you could choose to not warp things and that will play at their native tempos
you can ajust the tempo while non warped tunes play and it won't affect the unwarpped tune but if you try to go back to warp tunes there's no telling where the down beat is gonna start the warped tune, if your trying to keep sync to your metronome this technique is very tricky.

Re: And what about tempo automation?
I usually use a rotary mapped to the tempo for gradual tempo shifts. You can adjust the range to someting sensible (instead of 20-999bpm) when you map it. I realise doing it by hand isn't always ideal but I like it - one more thing that means I'm not just pressing play.
You could also use the push tempo button then trigger a tempo mapped next scene when it reaches the new tempo. If you use non quantised clips on legato the scene trigger point doens't need to exactly coincide with a bar or whatever.

Re: And what about tempo automation?
Tempo can be controlled through max for live. So you could create a device that generated accelerations or decelerations via a button press or envelope or whatever.

You can set a time to accellerate between 2 tempos with clyphx as well
