Overload problem with q6600 quad core cpu

Post by thecourier » Fri Apr 18, 2008 6:00 pm

I have a q6600 intel quad core...

I get ableton meter about 98% and cpu task manager is only 34-40%
but ableton 7 don't use all 4 core? There's a setting ?

Thanks

This depends on whether or not your set is multi-threaded. If you just make one giant synth patch that uses 98% cpu then it can't be distributed over multiple cores.
mbp 2.66, osx 10.6.8, 8GB ram.

like machinate said.
1st track CPU1
2nd track CPU2
3rd track CPU3
4th track CPU4
5th track CPU1
.
.
.
etc.

i believe the sends also route the load like this,,,

It's normal to see Live's load meter showing LOT more usage then
the taskmanager.

But you asked for a setting ? If you haven't come across it, the
multiprocessor setting is in Live's options menu under "CPU"
(who has thought that ?!)

Oh yes I've checked multiprocessor support for cpu but is already on.
Maybe some plugin that use only a cpu?
