I was just talking with my neighbour and he showed me a pair of Tannoy Monitor Gold DC12" Duel Concentric speakers sitting in the corner of his garage. He still has the cabinets as well. I currently don't have any monitors. Since I am a bit of a scrounger/handyman, I wondered if these had potential to be decent home studio monitors. I have found the Tannoy website. Here is an article reviewing the speakers and the model I think they are. Check out the Lancaster version http://www.hi-fiworld.co.uk/hfw/oldewor ... akers.html
Does anybody have any experience with Tannoys? Should I try and swap a crate of beer for them? Should I do my utmost to aquire them? Should I deny my inner most hoarder feelings ??

That can be awesome, so gettim if you can. They work very well as nearfield monitors as there is no phasing between tweeter/woofer.
This is a good website on the subject:

Also, it looks like I would have to make HUGE cabinets to fit them in.
