Please send your beta related feedback to beta@ableton.com or use the Bugs and Problems section of the forum.
Please keep in mind that it is helpful to know if a certain bug or problem you run into already exists in Live 7.0,1.
Kind Regards
/Alex
Changes from Live 7.0.2b3 to Live 7.0.2b4
Improvements
Several updated or corrected info texts.
In the mixer, chains are now treated as any other track concerning solo. That way soloing a chain in the Session mixer mutes every track except the one containing the Rack.
Bug fixes
Using the up or down arrow keys after deleting a chain in a Rack could crash Live.
Changing the song loop length would not work properly when time signature changes exist in the current document.
Under certain conditions, the Library path would not be properly stored in the preferences.
Disabling and enabling the Sync button would lock the tempo edit field.
The installation of a package would always say it was successful even if the installation failed.
On Mac OS X, keeping an instance of the EQ8 in Live’s internal clipboard when quitting would crash Live.

Actually there's not so much data being send by the fader movement only, but every few seconds a large sysex package is send to the Remote even if you don't change anything. Most likely this is used to force the Remote to template 40 and keep the Automap alive. As far as I can remember I noticed before that certain actions in Live can force the Remote to switch to template 40 even if you had chosen another template. But I have to try that again once I finally get a properly working SL unit.

Re: Another Live 7.0.2 Beta available: Live 7.0.2b4!
I am not doing the beta, sorry. But I just like to have 1 copy of a working release on my system, its easier for me.Alex wrote: On Mac OS X, keeping an instance of the EQ8 in Live’s internal clipboard when quitting would crash Live.
But I am on mac os x, and I was just wondering, is this what was causing live too crash on exit? I am always using Eq8, and yep sometimes I do get the exit crash. I guess if you guys have fixed it, that is great.
Cheers

as far as I know the crash on exit is 10.3.x specific..j2j wrote:But I am on mac os x, and I was just wondering, is this what was causing live too crash on exit?Alex wrote: On Mac OS X, keeping an instance of the EQ8 in Live’s internal clipboard when quitting would crash Live.

nah way, I have 10.4.11, arrg, I probably should have sent more logs over to Abe's, ok if I am still crashing on exit after the update release I will email support.Poster wrote:as far as I know the crash on exit is 10.3.x specific..j2j wrote:But I am on mac os x, and I was just wondering, is this what was causing live too crash on exit?Alex wrote: On Mac OS X, keeping an instance of the EQ8 in Live’s internal clipboard when quitting would crash Live.
but you know, a crash on exit, does not interfere with making music, so I am not too bothered, but I guess it is still important to fix.
arrg.

Hi thehumanmetronome,
What hardware is involved in the syncing (computer, interfaces, etc.)?
What are you syncing to Live/What are you syncing Live to?
cheers,
Jan
could you give us some more information regarding your problem?thehumanmetronome wrote:When are you gonna fix the freaking Midi sync problems? Live won't sync with Midi Time Code.........This really needs to be addressed.....

If you mean the drawing before the 1.1.1 marker, that should be fixed since 7.0.2b2:Has the "can't pencil draw" bug been fixed yet?

When using a clip with the 1.1.1 marker somewhere within the clip, it would not be possible to draw any linked clip envelope before the 1.1.1 clip start marker.

I'm running Live 7 on a Macbook with a Focusrite Saffire Pro 10 I/O interface. I have Pro Tools on another computer and I am trying to use Live as the slave by syncing with midi time code. When I play Pro Tools, Live will start playing, but it doesn't lock itself up with the right note. Instead of starting on the first quarter note of the bar, it locks to the 8th note after the first quarter note, (or the "and" of 1.) So the sequence im trying to sync is then in the wrong place. Nothing i have tried will fix this. It does it even with midi beat clock. There are no funny offsets or anything.
