Hi there
A solution to get rid of this "can't save file " Error is the following:
Check the track titles for special characters! Don't use them!
If you name a track title as "Guit/Synth" or "G*Synth" using special characters you will get this error. It looks like live does not check the string and filter it for writing a new file.
Sincerely
Karl

It has nothing to do with my audio in- or outputs or the monitoring.
I'm using Live 3.0 in German on a WindowsXP notebook with 512MB memory with a RME multiface.
I can reproduce the error message when I do this:
1. Rename a track title to "Guit/Synth"
2. Set the track to recording mode.
3. Record
Then the message "Fehler beim Schliessen von D:\Music\TmpRec\Temp-2\Guit/Synth Rec1.wav" comes up.
Or:
1. Rename a scene title to "Rec1/bass"
2. Set any track in the scene to recording mode.
3. Record any clip in this scene
Then the message "Fehler beim Schliessen von D:\Music\TmpRec\Temp-2\Bass Rec1/bass.wav" comes up.
The message comes everytime when I ignore the Windows file naming convention and use characters such as \ / : * " < > | in the track name.
My workaround is not to use them ;-)

Thanks for the detailed report; the bug is fixed for the upcoming 3.0.1 maintenance release.qminusi wrote:The message comes everytime when I ignore the Windows file naming convention and use characters such as \ / : * " < > | in the track name.
