Problem?On my macbookpro

Question for mac users.Since 4 days now when i turn on my macbookpro i get this sighn ? and then the apple logo comes.Das anyone knows why?

Not sure what sign you're talking about... could you be a bit more descriptive? Take a picture, perhaps?

It looks like a folder and there is the question mark in ? exactly this ?

Your best bet is to pop in the OS X install disk (but not do an installation!), and instead run disk utility and have it repair the drive.

i use to get that in the old os9 days... its basically searching for ur start up volume.
repairing the disk should fix the problem.

as said before, it happens when it's looking for your OS folder. If it happens again, go to System Preferences > Startup Disk, and there select your OS System Folder as Startup.

I have the machine since last july,this happend the last 4 days.Now all is ok.

he might be taking about the master password (under system prefs / security).
when enabled it encrypts your files and adds more security. but if u forget the passwords u could be really screwed...

altho' i dont see this as being related to your original post. the folder thing is related to multiple OS, most likely OSX and OS9 classic. its nothing major, the only time it becomes a problem is if it stays stuck on the folder icon, then it means it cant find the startup disk...
