Carl Cox is USING ABLETON!!!!

Post by Adonis » Fri Nov 17, 2006 6:21 pm

I knew I used the program for a reason

go to http://carlcox.com check out the gallery

Image

but in more than one city he's got a Laptop with Ableton going on

plus a BCF2000 <-- so that means I'm buying a BCF2000

So, now that the worlds best dj is using ableton I can now rest and never use another program again for anything ever ever ever

That laptop is in pretty much all his pictures and I'm seeing more and more Ableton - whoa and wow

wow

check it out - I'm not kidding

Yeah the last time he played Boston he was using a lappie... I have to say I was a wee bit disappointed butit's a sign of the times. Especially for DJs having to travel so much these days with so much luggage going missing because of all the stupid stupid extra security measures...
Awright Bawjaws, that smells lovely son, gies a wee taste!

It's pertty exciting if you ask me

I'm really getting into playing tracks with Ableton

Last night I figured out how to loop on the fly with key commands (having trouble with quantizing after the fact of turning it on and off but...)

This morning I go on Carl Cox's website and bam - Live with a BCF2000!!!

I could care less what other people think of Carl Cox to me he's pretty much the ultimate everything (and that's not up for debate)

so I'm like 'whoa'

He's not being using Live in any of those recent gigs he has in his gallery on that site.

btw. bcr2000 is a much better choice :)

He's still on the pioneer 1000's but look closer at different cities and countries - in one shot he's got LIVE above the mixer but in most of the other cities he's got it off to the right side - with a ABleton set in full view

+1
I hate to fanboy any controller 'cause there's tons of options and ways of working but the bcr has 16 more controls on it.

SIXTEEN.

but get what makes you happy.

Nevermind the haters, there are children here who act out any chance we get.

Is he still any good though? Coldcut started using Live around the same time they went shit...
Suit #1: I mean, have you got any insight as to why a bright boy like this would jeopardize the lives of millions?
Suit #2: No, sir, he says he does this sort of thing for fun.

i'm not a big fan of CC, but it's cool to see one of my friends (dejan milicevic) on his top ten list. ;)
