Zebra 2. Oh dear god.

Post by glitchrock-buddha » Thu Oct 12, 2006 4:16 am

Playing with the demo. can't stop.

I'm beside myself. Never have I heard anything quite like it. It can do anything.

It can sound just like Logic's Sculpture or ES2. IT can sound just like Absynth or a 303. It can sound like Operator or whatever the hell you want. wow.

What an amazing hybrid of analog, fm, wavetable (morphing!), and physical modeling (comb unit) synthesis.

Only downside is it's not uncommon for a patch to reach near the 30% mark on cpu (on my macbook!).

I've blown way too much cash lately. must resist.

But if anyone is looking for one synth to be your 'go to' synth. Look no further.

wow. again.

yup awesome synth! 2 years in the making too. The price is good also for what you get and I think zebralette and zrev are included also cuz they were included in the beta.

Yep - got it a few weeks back on pre-order. Did the Dinosaur crossgrade offer too so it ended up being $119 (though I am absolutely skint now - no sampler 4 me!). Great synth, great developer.

Another vote, this is my only VSTi now, replaced z3ta+ easily and I thought that one was awesome. Awesome developer too.

It really is a piece of work. Can do just about anything, even some PM. Picked it up a few months ago, when it was still in beta... hardly use anything else these days. It is pretty nice on the CPU as well, considering how large it sounds.

I belive Urs said he is keeping the pre-order price of 169 up until Monday (but don't quote me). As everyone else said you're also supporting a great dev as well.

I just spent hours on the demo and am really thinking about buying it. Its kinda similar to Absynth in some ways but perhaps better. Thanks for the heads up...

It sounds good, but I don't think its worth 200 bucks.
