Aye, That would be many well placed kicks around the whole torso region.glitchrock-buddha wrote:I imagine that would be the case. I can't see the new functionality being exclusive to only new units. That would be a kick in the arse.kennerb wrote:I wonder if this would also be a firmware update for 1X users.

Well that does it.
Installed V2 of automap sofware, and I can now officially say that all my Remote SL + Ableton Live desires are at last fulfilled.
Now it trully feels like using hardwares synths and a mixer with instant bouncing back and forth between templates and automap.
Life is good.

glitchrock, can you describe the experience you having with the new OS?
Is it different to this? :
selecting a plugin (eg Imposcar) only opens up the left side of the remote to edit the plugs. It doesnt actually open up the Imposcar template.
I have the input and output set to Remote SL MIDI (2)
I am doing this on a Remote Zero so there may be something else out of whack.

if you get ANY automapping your settings are correct. <edit> I should say if you can get the faders to move then automap is working. The MIDI side of the SL and the automap side are different beasts.Porpy wrote:selecting a plugin (eg Imposcar) only opens up the left side of the remote to edit the plugs. try hitting the grey buttons in the upper left corner of the SL, you can page up to MANY other pages, thus opening up the VST.

Yes, when you are in automap mode, you only get the top left eight rotary controls assigned to whatever device you have selected, the rest is for mixer, sends etc.. It does not open up the template for the device you selected. However, it is now simply a matter of turning the knob to go to the imposcar template and then you have all knobs and sliders being used for a full template. You can also assign buttons on the remote SL to go instantly to any template.Porpy wrote:glitchrock, can you describe the experience you having with the new OS?

Before it would always revert to automap unless you deselected midi out in preferences, in which case you couldn't use automap.
When you are heavily tweaking a synth, it's much better to use a template, but it's nice to be able to quickly go back to using the mixer/sends.
And now we have instant access to more than just the eight assignable knobs on the bottom left for midi learning, as you can just hit a button, and have as many blank templates available as you want.

DAMN IT.
When you move to another template and then back to automap, value scaling and pick up don't work the first time you move a slider. It jumps.
Which means you go to a synth template, tweak away, come back to use the mixer controls, and the damn sliders jump.
Also the octave setting changes back to 0 avery time you change templates. kind of annoying.
stupid little things. why. oh well, still better than before.

Could you report these bugs to Novation glitchrock. Last time I had a problem with Remote editor, they fixed the bug very fast. Their support response is fast enough according to my experience.glitchrock-buddha wrote:DAMN IT.
