- find stuff you actually finish music you're happy with,
- work within your limitations and MAKE MUSIC
- stop chasing after the magic solution that will write it for you automatically, or some new toy that you'll never learn to use properly ..
and you will stop wanting more crap that will sit there and produce nothing
imo

Of course it's true.. In today's world, making music is not like being Ricky Bobby in the Indy 500 where you have to have the fastest, bestest, most expensive car, to win. There are tons of dope producers out there using free, or what others would consider shit ass plugs to make music. James Holden uses a ton of Buzz plugs. It's his mainstay, and he's raking in, and created his niche using free shit. It's the musician, stupid. <-- not calling anyone stupid here, it's a saying..supster wrote:stinky wrote:supster wrote:- find stuff you actually finish music you're happy with,

PRICE: Free
Simple, works great. Get it and make some music
No ... free.200 bucks!!!!
3 things (IMO) that kill peoples productivity in this more than anything else
1 - Constantly lusting after new gear and not exploiting what you have
2 - Feeling you need to build every damn sound from the ground up and never use presets (total waste of time for the avg person)
3 - Spending all of your time on boards instead of concentrating and working hard to finish your projects
Im not giving you a hard time here, honestly trying to help. If you can conquer those three things you will be 10x ahead of a lot (definitely not all) of the regulars on this board ... ESPECIALLY this board
imo

there is no such thing as a free UB sidechain, although Sqook is supposedly working on one. Just use the Eq4 sidechain.. it works... there's nothing wrong with it. It's not the greatest, but it does it's job. Otherwise, use a poor man's sidechain and draw the ducking in..john gordon wrote:that free plugin is windows only.i need mac.universal binaries. oh well.
