Good, thanks. Anybody else?
But I did manage to crash live by moving around some clips!! eeek!
Can you please look if you have a crash log in <HOME>/Library/Logs/CrashReporter/Live.crash.log. If not, please turn on crash reporting in the preferences of Console.app (in /Applications/Utilities), so that you get one next time.

If you do have a log (or get one in the future), please mail it to bugs@ableton.com, along with a description of what you did. Thanks.

dropout cont'd

Post by Fritz » Sun Apr 11, 2004 10:39 pm

Hi all,

Live 3.02, OS X.3.2, Ti G4 1Ghz w/1G ram. MOTU 828II FW I/O.

QT 6.5 Pro. Clips played from internal drive. About 100 clips in the set. Varying length from :05 to 12:00. No clips from RAM, all from HD.
Live CPU usage 18% rolling, 7% at rest.

I'm still getting these intermittent dropouts. I've repaired permissions. Updated to MOTO v1.09 FW driver. They haven't been as long as others have indicated. About 2-3 secs. Seems to happen after Live is running a couple hours.

I'm gonna flip back to OS9, at least for the time being.

I'm also seeing CPU usage spikes as others have said. Avg is 30-50% usage, but spikes much higher.

4.0.4 and the problem still remains the same

Live if you're a OSX, or a MOTU user.

Random Audio Dropouts is happening with many of the users.
No it doesn't have something to do with the buffer size nor RAM. People with the latest
Powerbooks, people with the latest OSX, people with latest 828mk2 users, are all
complaing about this RANDOM AUDIO DROP OUTS !
This problem has not been fixed for a pretty long time, and people are still complaing.

Check out the forums.
Amazing how everyone is still having the same problem.

DO NOT USE LIVE4 ON STAGE !!
or you will get a very loud RIP from the SPEAKERS.
i repeat,
OSX, MOTU USERS, DO NOT USE LIVE4 ON STAGE.
untill ableton decides to fix the bug.
