SPDIF outs?

Post by NewSc2 » Thu Apr 20, 2006 11:25 am

Pardon my ignorance, but some interfaces are advertised as having the ability to increase the in/outs via SPDIF and ADAT. I have a MOTU Traveler and I want more channels, so what is out there for me to look at?

The only thing I've come across is the Soundcraft M12 with SPDIF outs, and the Behringer ADA8000 with 8-ins via SPDIF. Anything else out there that's not cost-prohibitive?

s/pdif stands for sony/philips digital interface, it's basicaly a stereo digital in/out port .
adat stands for alesis digital audio tape (i think) ,this one can carry 8 ins & 8 outs .
the ada8000 will require an adat in from your mixer & cannot be plugged on an s/pdif port .
i hopt it gives you a bit of light .
