Signal Flow & External Instruments

Post by hujib » Sat Mar 25, 2006 4:48 pm

Would be great if (much like Cubase SX does) when you solo'd a channel any sends were also solo'd with it so you could hear the full signal with effects. Maybe make it an optional thing?

Also, with other DAW's having support and full compensation for external instruments why not have that as well. Being able to use hardware as it was a plugin and being able to mix it in LIVE without having create extra channels would be great!

1 ) options : solo in place. its in there, hommes.

2 ) Not sure whatcha mean. You mean like having your midi out to an external instrument and it's audio back in on the same channel?

I'll check out "solo in place"...

In Cubase you can link and MIDI channel to an audio input. When you solo the MIDI it keeps the input active. The MIDI info is pushed out ahead of the audio to make up the latency difference coming back in. Maybe that would be less effective for a live product.. just thinking out loud. It works really in the studio.
