Using 2 recording interfaces in Ableton Live

Post by sal_the_cat » Mon Apr 08, 2024 1:08 pm

Hey folks, anyone use a similar setup?
I use "Clarett 2 pre" as my primary recording interface. Recently I acquired the Boss Waza tube expander(TAE) for direct recording guitar. This also has a USB interface. I can use both interfaces separately but not at the same time yet.

I learn that you can add an aggregate device on the Mac to assign 2 sound interfaces. I know know how to do it now.
My question is, is there a way to continue to use only one set of speakers or do I need another set, so that each recording.sound interface has its own speakers? If a single set of speakers can be used, how do you route it?

thanks

No need for more speakers, just do as with a single interface: select Live's stereo output channels.
Generally speaking, just think as your aggregate device as a single interface and everything should start making sense.
