Want to record clicking trough timeline and pausing etc

hi!
Got a bunch of reverbs and delays etc frozen,
and what i often to is mess about with stuff and record it into a new audio track that is set to resampling mode.

However when i click trough the timeline using the play head above where i want it to start, recording stops, which is logical offcourse.

Preferably i would do this in ableton itself, because i've already figured out external apps to record all of this kind of stuff but its a bit of a hassle.
