Where to buy RAM for Powerbook?

Post by daisy » Sat Jul 16, 2005 3:25 am

Hey guys-
Just wondering if you know of any places online where I can find RAM for my 15" G4 Powerbook. I looked at a few sites and it is goddamn EXPENSIVE!

Any help would be awesome..
thanks :D

No doubt, the absolute cheapest, best quality, and fastest shipping is a company in Florida called Omni Technology. I bought a 1GB and 512MB from them for my Powerbook 1.5Ghz. They are a certified Apple Developer and certified OEM Memory Manufacturer and Distributor.

yep what hoffman said. These two are always the most recommended sites. Excellent support from Crucial by phone, you can call them and quiz them and they know what they're talking about. Read about their testing procedures and you may be convinced as to why they are well respected... they would say that though wouldn't they? :)

I was refered to http://www.macramdirect.com by a fellow board member.

Purchased a 1 gig stick from them for a good price and am very happy.

I just bought 2 1 gig sticks for my PB from Omni Technologies. They seem very reputable and cool to deal with.
peace,

i almost always use OWC for stuff like ram - eshop.macsales.com

not necessarily the cheapest (but certainly close, or at least competitive) however the service is unmatched. OWC Larry will just about come to your house if there's a problem with anything, ever.

the people at smalldog.com and expercom.com are also very excellent.

I second crucial; they've always been very easy to deal with. However, you'll find that you get better ram prices on their website by searching for the apple model that you have, then taking that ram serial number and searching for that instead of the "apple certified" brand. I guess it's like buying Calvin Klein jeans... the brand is half of the price tag.
