Session View Stop buttons?

I read in the Manual

27.9 Controlling Live's Session View.........

Playing clips pulse green to white.

Recording clips pulse red to white.
.........

Mine go Dark not white.......but anyway.......

You can stop all music in a track by enabling Stop Mode and pressing that track’s State Control button.

Mine isnt working. I can hold shift and stop all clips. By reading manual, Cant I press the stop button and then hit the "State Control" (second row of smaller white pads from the screen.) on the track I want to stop.

Also shouldn't the row above Select the track in session mode? Seems to me these buttons should select track and the button below should stop tracks in Session Mode. Like on the APC40.

Is this possible without Max4Live?

Ok I found this works if I press the Track button.
