Presets

Post by jomtones » Sun Jul 08, 2012 2:59 pm

Any way to export a patch from the 'preset' device? Want to be able to transfer them between various identical devices in my set. :?: :|

the way to do it is to couple Preset with the pattrsystem. Do the upgrade, and you'll have access to a lot of fun bits, it's well worth it moving to that next level in max'ing.

start with [pattrstorage] and work from there. The help file has an example using preset as a UI, I believe.

As was already said, you need to use pattrstorage.

As far as I know, there's no 'copy to clipboard' inbuilt functionality for pattrstorage. I remember even reading a statement from cycling that it's very far down the priority list. So you would need to write the presets to a file.

I need that functionality myself, and I don't like to idea to handle with file dialog during performance or composing, so I'm on my way to build something. The idea is to use send and receive to spread the result of a pattrstorage dump all over the patches in my live set. The 'paste' button is supposed to actually write these values into the pattrstorage and apply them.

Finally had a chance to look at this but I'm still almost as confused as I was! Can I use this to copy and paste patches between devices?

All I really want to be able to do is save a 'patch' out of a preset device rather than the whole 'bank' - but I need to be able to keep the 'bank' intact when I load one patch into it, if you see what I mean.
