Another nail in the coffin of 'house' music.
In fairness NRK have always been a pretty good label but that UK / US house thing seems to have been totally eclipsed by the new kids on the block that are rolling out the new style stuff - labels / artists such as Innervisions, Stimming, Cadenza, Poker Flat etc.
Shame cos that label always seemed like they were trying to find the good stuff. . .

it is a shame, but to fair all their recent stuff has been at best mediocre, they just didn't keep up with the times. loved their older stuff but always a label that kinda stayed in the background.
this is not a nail in the coffin for house music, this is a nail in the coffin for NRK house music, which is around 5 years out of date. house is as healthy as it is today as it ever was, in its many guises & genres.

Today's underground labels exist in dog years compared to the majors. Changes and competition in music happen too quickly to remain relevant for more than a couple years.
Maybe we should start a label dead pool.

aye that was kinda what i meant,
was just reading the Sneak thing on RA the other day and it struck me how these guys banging on about stating true to the faith and a love of house and all of that are just becoming more irrelevant to what the kids are up to. . .

but considering the first paragraph on their news page is:
2003 is set to be another great year for NRK.
then yeah, I guess they are 6 years out of date
it's kind of my 'era' though - that's when I last really bought and released vinyl around that time

Whats that sneak thing on RA? An article on Resident Advisor?
I'm always trying to find out whats 'current' in house, it seems there's no good resources on it.
