[4552] transient detection buggy - sample rate differences

Post by Bunky Freaks » Sun Jan 25, 2009 4:03 pm

the transient detector seem to be very sensitive/buggy in relation to the sample rate of a sample and deliever quite different results. the screenshots below show the same sample resampled to various sample rates (offline with r8brain free). project sample rate was set to 44,1 kHz

there are obvious differences in the detected transients:

11025 Hz:

220050 Hz:

44100 Hz:

beta6 still doesn't get the transients 100% right. not so obvious when zoomed out, but clearly visible when zooming in. The transient marker still has a certain offset if samplerate is not 44,1 kHz, which also is the project rate.

These are zoomed-in screenshots from the second hit in the drumloop. Only at 44,1 kHz the transient marker is placed at the "right" spot, while at other sample rates there is an offset to the actual transient.
