I'm just wondering where you got this from and why this would cause a higher cost than any other distributer.

it`s a fact that akai, alesis, and numark is all the same company.
Akai (Numark Alesis)
200 Scenic View Drive, Ste 201, Cumberland, RI 02864, USA
http://www.akai.com
(401)-658-5760

easiest way: read this  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Akai

Also in 2004, following a US distribution deal, the Akai Professional Musical Instrument division was acquired by Jack O'Donnell, owner of Numark, and audio-electronics corporation Alesis. The three brands operate under the banner Numark Industries, LLC of Cumberland RI.

the big question regarding why they sell the apc40 so much higher in eu is the one which has to be answered now.

OK. So it's not really big news since it's all the same company. :?

Prices has always been different between Europe and the US. But (as ALREADY stated) VAT is much higher all over Europe. In case of Sweden that's 25% just there. And at the moment the Euro is particularly weak against the dollar.

I don't find it that strange. Really.

no it`s strange you forgot something.

the prices of many products also dropped in last time / were stable as before. (eu)

but the difference with apc40 is way too big for such stuff.
if it were not, i had never started this thread.
i also import many stuff from us but this is a story which is not acceptable.

449,- eur vs. 280,- eur (us)
= with vat and customs if selfimported!!! >> ~ 380 eur

also what you wrote regarding $ vs. eur exchangerates is not this way!
if dollar and eur where as before the finance crisis (with 1 eur was up to $1.49) apc would be again lower than 280,- eur.

i think it should be clear now...

no thats the easiest  but not the way to go for people who wan`t this controller 8O
best way is to show them directly in way of direct contact.
1-3mins for email and a cheaper apc40 is better than none

vendors are not politics where we are only little idiotic lemmings who are controlled from the big politicans.

I guess if you write a mail or don't buy it or whatever you want to do
won't change anything.
I tried to get one today and it seems like It's sold out everywhere and i mean everywhere
and most of them told me even the next round they will get are completely sold out!
You can get on a list and one day they can_t name now you will get one!
I don't think the price in Europe will drop so soon, why should they?
If anyone knows where i can get one in Europe let me know!

Agreed.

If you find something to expensive. Don't buy. Easy.

Or do something constructive instead of whining. Work an extra day at the plant and earn those extra 70 euros so you can buy your APC.

Well I say its obvious they just think that Euros are New World Order Bullshit and that everyone in Europe should use their own damn money. Besides its a straight shot from China to the U.S. How many fukin borders does an MPC have to cross to get anywhere else?

that's what you european and australian pussies get for slamming the US every chance you got!!!

only kidding... don't your get your panties in a bunch.

welcome to the wonderful world of trade. we get good deals on some electronics and you get good deals on everything else. for example, i work for a contractor that specializes in marble and granite fabrication. we pay an arm and a leg for good quality italian marble. i bet it's a lot cheaper in europe. i'd be interested to find out... someone in italy, tell me much top quality calacatta gold slabs are per square foot.

All bullshit aside... You're not going to get an honest answer about the pricing. After all, this is a corporate entity that we're dealing with.

They don't give a shit what you don't wanna pay as long as you'll pay it. Its all about a spreadsheet and the bottom line.

They proabably shipped 5 million units to the U.S. at one or two points of entry and only 1 million into Europe at 270 points of entry. It costs them more so it costs YOU more. I'm not saying its right or wrong but corporate America only cares about money... I'm sure its the same all over the global village.
